The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel that is not strictly necessary to Italy and Slovenia, the Vatican City State and San Marino.
Based on the National Institute of Public Health (FHI)s weekly assessment of the infection situation for the coronavirus, the government has decided that these countries go from yellow to red on the infectaion map for Europe. This also changes the travel advice. All travelers from these countries who come to Norway from midnight on 5 September will be quarantined for ten days.
FHI also recommends removing the entry quarantine for Cyprus. The country has had a declining number of cases and as of 31 August has fewer than 20 cases per 100,000 in the last two weeks.
The same also applies to the regions Örebro, Gotland, Värmland, Västernorrland, Jämtland and Västerbotten in Sweden as well as the region Sjælland in Denmark, which all go from red to yellow on the infection map.
